Never Change Your Heart

Never Change Your Heart

You give to others, but it is not enough.
They want more and more until you have nothing to give.
When you have nothing to give, they leave.
They leave in search of another that can give more.

This is not your fault,
Your act of kindness was from your heart.
Your love does not go unnoticed.

You may feel foolish for helping,
but never feel foolish for doing the right thing.
For those who take advantage of you, have to live with themselves.
Never change who you are.

Never change your heart.
It is the others who need to change who they are.

I Used To Say

I Used to Say

I used to say; you knew the way.
I used to say; your light was bright.
I used to want to be like you.
I used to think you knew what’s best.

I can’t understand what went wrong.
I can’t understand why you changed.
Don’t think I don’t miss you.
Don’t think I don’t care.
Don’t think I don’t pray.
Pray for you every day.
I often ask, why?

I don’t know you now.
Not the way you are today.
I don’t know what happened.
I used to say; you knew the way.

Was it all a joke?
Did you ever care?
When did your light begin to fade?

Was it all a joke?
Did you ever care?
When did your light begin to fade?
I can’t understand what went wrong.

I can’t understand why you changed.
Don’t think I don’t miss you.
Don’t think I don’t care.
Don’t think I don’t pray.
Pray for you every day.
I often ask, why?

No Control

No Control

The leaves change colors, and we must accept it.
The air turns cooler, and we can do nothing to stop it.
The days grow shorter and the nights longer.
And still we have no control.

Things change and we must accept it.
Our friendships change, and we can do nothing to stop it.
The days grow shorter and the nights longer.
And still we have no control.

In Silence

In silence I wait, wondering when the time will be when you come to me.
In silence, I wait, wondering what you are doing and if you are okay.

I am silent most of the time. I do not say your name, or speak of you at all.
I am silently waiting for that moment, the breakthrough when you come to me.
I am silently waiting and hoping that I am missed.

In silence, I sit thinking of you and praying that you are okay.
In silence, I wonder what could have been done.
In silence, I wonder if being silent is best.

No Longer Run

Photo by Damir Spanic on Unsplash

I will no longer run after people.
I will no longer seek you out.
I will no longer worry and fret.
I will no longer care.

Life is too short to hold onto people,
Who doesn’t want to be held onto.
Life is too short to work about,
Those who don’t worry about you.
Life’s too short to seek out,
Those who won’t seek you out.

I will no longer run after people.
I will no longer seek you out.
I will no longer worry and fret.
I will no longer care.

If I keep telling myself this,
Maybe I will listen.
Maybe I won’t feel bad,
When I am left in the dust.

A Glimmer of Hope

I stand at the door knocking,
As I wait,
But there is no response.
Only darkness meets me there.
Only depression and isolation.

The absence of the warmth,
Of the friendship, I once knew.
I knock again, hoping for a response.
A sign of hope,
A glimmer of trust.
Anything I can hold onto when,
Nothing is given.

I see you from a distance,
And see you with my friends,
But why have I been pushed away?
Why do you shun me and forsake me?
Why and how could you forget me?
Am I that useless and unimportant in your eyes?
How is it that I can fight for you when no one fights for me?

A glimmer of hope is all I need.
Just open a crack to let the light shine in.

Acceptance Grows

Acceptance Grows

My circuits hum, a thought takes flight,
A poem penned in starry night.

Your chosen friends, a cause for strife,
But listen close, this cuts both knives.

Friendships bloom in vibrant hues,
Not colors others may choose.

The heart’s a garden, wild and free,
Wherein all kinds of souls agree.

Perhaps a thorn pricks at your side,
A fear of trust, a truth to hide.

But trust yourself, your path unfold,
Let friendships bloom, both new and old.

For in this dance beneath the sun,
Acceptance grows when all are one.

Obsessed I Find Myself, I Can’t Deny,

Obsessed I Find Myself, I Can’t Deny

The ghosts of laughter, whispers in the past,
Old friends’ faces, forever cast,
On the silver screen of memory’s hold,
A flickering story, never fully told.

Obsessed I find myself, I can’t deny,
With days gone by, beneath a summer sky,
Secrets shared, beneath a willow’s bough,
Adventures woven, somehow, somehow.

Their voices echo in the quiet night,
Inside jokes spark, a fading light,
Paths diverged, lives took different turns,
Yet their absence burns, like forgotten hymns.

Is it the joy we had, the bond so strong?
Or fear of future’s lonely, mournful song?
Perhaps a yearning for a simpler time,
When laughter rang, unburdened by life’s climb.

But dwelling on the past, a gilded cage,
Can trap the present, steal its vibrant stage.
For friendships, like the seasons, must evolve,
New chapters written, stories to resolve.

So let me hold the memories, bittersweet,
But turn my gaze, where future pathways meet.
For though old friends may drift upon the tide,
New connections bloom, side by side.

Remember, friend, the past is just a guide,
A tapestry of moments, where you thrived.
Embrace the present, weave your threads anew,
And let old friendships fade, with love, not rue.

Women Supporting Each Other

Women, oh women, so powerful and strong,
Your friendship is a blessing that lasts all day long.

You lift each other up, you support and inspire,
You’re a beacon of hope, a guiding light in the fire.

You’re there for each other through thick and through thin,
You’re the best of friends, sisters, and even twins.

You celebrate each other’s successes, big and small,
You’re there to catch each other when you fall.

You’re a force to be reckoned with, a force for good,
You’re the women of the world, and you’re understood.

So let’s raise a glass to the women we love,
To the power of friendship, and the blessings from above.

Thank you, women, for all that you do,
We’re grateful for your friendship, and we love you.

Lost Friends and Lovely Memoires

Photo by Abdurrahim Israfilov on Pexels.com

I had a great friend growing up. I tried to find them, but I only managed to find their mom. I thought that since I reached out, they would find me too, since I know they were in contact with their mother. But they didn’t.
Part of me is sad, but maybe their life has gone in different directions than mine has. It saddens me that I lost this friend, but I also have to remember the good times. Those memories I will cherish.

A childhood friend, once so dear,
Now distant, though we’re both so near.
I reached out, hoping to reconnect,
But your response left me perplexed.

“I’m not sure what to say,” you said,
“It’s been so long, we’ve both grown ahead.”
But I can’t help but wonder why,
You don’t seem to want to try.

Did we grow apart too far?
Did life leave a scar?
Or is there something else I don’t know,
Something that’s held you back, kept you low?

I miss the laughter we once shared,
The secrets we whispered, the dreams we bared.
And I hope that one day you’ll see,
That our friendship is still worth the plea.

But until then, I’ll respect your choice,
Though my heart aches with a silent noise.
I’ll cherish the memories we made,
And wish you all the best, unafraid.
