The Willowbrooke Chronicles (A RP GROUP)

We are telling the story of Willowbrooke, a fictional town of our creation.

We give you freedom to create your own plots & ideas. Admins will not create plots for you or control your stories. You are free to be creative. Our story is ongoing, so as long as it fits in with the story, you can go for it.

We role play characters inspired by Marvel/DC and Classic Fairytales. Ocs are welcome, they must be approved by admins, and they must follow our template and fit into our group. Admins will help you create this.


For writers, making an original character for a rp is a great way to work out characters for your stories. I often create ocs for my characters and work on how they would react in different situations.

Help With Marketing Please

I need help marketing and none of my books are selling and I am at a loss. 

As a writer, we need to specialize in many things. We need to tell interesting stories, use proper grammar, have captivating covers and then market our books. I struggle with marketing. 

I have put so much time and money into my books that I don’t see a point anymore. It is not about making money; it’s about sharing my story. Of course, making money would be nice, but I want people to read my works. I want people to experience the worlds I have created. 

So, I am at a loss. I have many ideas for future books, but I am finding it difficult to keep going. I have a full-time job, and a family, and although I would love to stay at home and write, that is not something I can do right now. Plus, I love being a teacher. 

In the past, people have told me to make a Facebook page, put your book on these sites, and share your work. I have done those things and I am still not selling my books. What have you done to market your books? Have you hired a professional? I would appreciate any advice.

My husband Surprised Me

My husband surprised me one night when I was feeling really stressed and not good enough. He wrote
me a poem, and anyone who knows me knows that I love poetry. I in turn wrote one for him.

I want you to know
I will always be here
Through good times
And the bad ones too
I will stand with you
I will love you
Until the end of my days
I want you to know
There is nothing in this world
That can change how I feel
How special you are
How lucky i feel to have you in my life

Just how amazing you are
How much love you have in your heart
How talented you are
I want you to know
I love you babe

And this is the poem I wrote for him. (This is not the first one I wrote for him, but it made me feel so loved that he wrote one for me.

Some People

Some people only see one side.
Some people tell you what to see.
Some people never let you see.

They come from both sides
Left and right
Their way or else
Never letting others be themselves. 

Some people accept people for who they are.
They share their views with others.
They accept others' views.
Letting others be themselves.

If you are a teacher, principal or someone who interacts with children, never do this ever!

This is the first time I am really speaking out about this.

Years ago, I lived in Bayonne, NJ and went to Lincoln Community School. Each year the principal would come into our classroom. He proceeded to call us to the front and read our report cards to the class before handing them to us.  

I struggled when I was in elementary school. My mom was sick with Ovarian cancer and died when I was 11 years old. I was in 5th grade at the time but for four years before that she was sick at home. I struggled with getting my work done and especially had a difficult time with math.

I remember his words, “Oh Nancy seems like you’re failing math again. Mom and dad won’t be happy you need to work on that.”

It took everything in my soul not to flip out on him. So, I wanted to say to that principal who thought he knew everything and loved to embarrass children at their most vulnerable, “Hey ******* I am teaching math now! Now tell me about failing math!”

The moral of the story: If you are a teacher, principal or someone who interacts with children, never do this ever! Someone like me looked at it as a challenge, but I dealt with anxiety Adn self-doubt for my entire life. Others were not as lucky as I was.

No One Listens

No One Listens
I don’t even know who to go to anymore.
No one just listens.
They talk and give answers, 
but if it isn’t their way it’s the wrong way.

They won’t let you be upset and just listen.
They want to have the last word, 
They want to prove you wrong,
They want to solve all your problems, just to say they did. 

You can’t be angry, 
You can’t just not like something or someone.
You have to be the one at fault, and the one to fix it
If you are wrong for not doing what they say.

I don’t even know who to go to anymore.
No one just listens.
