A whisper’s sting, a murmured word, A friendship lost, a trust unheard. They chose the shadows, turned away, On rumors built, they wouldn’t stay.
Their loss, I see, not mine to bear, For truth and loyalty, a crown I wear. Laughter shared, and secrets kept, Through trials faced, a promise swept.
They missed the warmth, the hand to hold, The stories whispered, brave and bold. The shoulder strong in times of strife, The loyal heart that lights your life.
So let them walk in whispers’ din, My path is clear, my spirit kin. For friendships forged in fire’s test, Will stand the strongest, shine the best.
In 2008, I experienced the loss of my first child through miscarriage. I never had the chance to see your face or know if you were a boy or a girl. To hold onto you, I named you Aurora. Today would have been your birthday, and you would be turning fifteen. Though we couldn’t be together here, know that my love for you has never faded. When we finally meet, you’ll receive all the hugs and love I’ve longed to give you.
Your Birthday
The calendar turns, a cruel, indifferent page, Marking a day unseen, on life’s unfinished stage. A day of dreams, of what could have come to be, A tiny soul, a birthday meant for thee. My womb, once a haven, a cradle warm and bright, Now holds an emptiness, a silent, shadowed night. No cooing laughter, no tiny fingers curled, Just echoes of a future, lost within this world. But love, like light, transcends the body’s hold, A whispered promise, a story yet untold. You bloomed a fleeting while, a bud unseen, yet known, A cherished thought, a love forever sown. The world may not have known your smile, your touch, But in my heart, my love, you mean so much. A silent tear may fall, a pang of what could be, But hope still whispers, “Though unseen, you’re free.” This day we’ll mark you, with love that will not fade, A birthday whispered, a memory gently made. For though you’re gone from sight, an angel in the sky, My love for you, my child, will never, ever die.
In hushed whispers or a heartfelt plea, Prayer, a bridge unseen, yet meant to be. It floats on faith, a silent, feathered thing, To unseen ears, a message it can bring.
No padlock holds, no distance can confine, It slips through walls, a lifeline so divine. In sorrow’s depths, a flicker in the night, A spark of hope, a gentle, guiding light.
For burdens shared are lighter, that is true, But whispered prayers can mend a heart in two. It fills the soul with whispered, calming grace, A quiet strength to find a better space.
It holds no form, no color, nor a sound, Yet in its wake, a peace can be found. Like magic blooms, where worries used to cling, A fragile hope, on whispered prayer’s wing.
So let it rise, this magic yet unseen, A whispered word, a silent, trusting dream. For prayer’s soft touch, though subtle and unknown, Holds a power vast, to heal and make us whole.
A friend so rare, a gem so bright, Your laughter chases away the night. With you, dear friend, my heart takes flight, We share our dreams in morning light.
Though miles may stretch, or days may crawl, The bond we share will never fall. Your voice, a comfort, warm and true, But missing you makes skies turn blue.
Inside jokes dance, a whispered rhyme, Memories echo through the chime Of silent hours, when we’re apart, A hollow ache within my heart.
But like the sun, you’ll rise once more, And friendship’s warmth will fill the door. Until that time, I hold you near, My amazing friend, forever dear.
My daughter Zelda read this book and is begging me to finish the next one! I am beyond blessed that she loved the book. What a Happy Mother’s Day present!

Their whispers dark, their barbs so keen, Dimmed your light, a shadowed scene. But courage rose, a strength within, You chose yourself, let healing begin.
Two wasted years, a memory faint, Replaced by joy, a vibrant paint. New connections, genuine and bright, Filling your days with warmth and light.

So raise a glass, a toast to you, For strength and growth, a brand new view. May kindness bloom, and friendships true, Surround your life, forever new.
Self-reflection is a powerful tool. Lately, I’ve realized that maybe I’ve been too critical of others’ actions, and perhaps my attempts to help haven’t always landed well. Instead of controlling situations, I want to be more supportive. My desire to help shouldn’t come at the cost of respecting boundaries. While helping is important, learning from past experiences will help me offer support more effectively. I’ll continue to lend a hand, but with a more open mind and less judgment.
The walls we build, of thought and stone, To keep the world familiar, known. But truths untold may lie outside, In paths we dare not open wide.
The tongue that’s quick to judge and scorn, Misses the wisdom newly born. For every path, however strange, Holds beauty in a different range.
Let down the bars of black and white, Embrace the spectrum, shining bright. A melody with notes unknown, Can paint a world yet to be shown.
Respect the choices, though unlike, For in that difference, hearts ignite. A tapestry of lives entwined, Strength in the threads, of every kind.
So open ears, and open mind, Let understanding be entwined. For in the garden, blooms so bright, Each flower adds its unique light.
Social media can be tough. Being unfriended can trigger anxiety, especially when making friends feels challenging. I sometimes feel awkward, and my children have mentioned autism, though it wasn’t well-understood when I was growing up (80s and 90s).
Recently, someone I rarely spoke to blocked me. The reason, “told a lot,” is unclear. Who’s gossiping? It’s tempting to dwell on it, but focusing on trust is more helpful.
My mental health has improved significantly over the past year. While trust can be difficult, I believe in showing kindness and love. It’s hard at times, my mind races with worry, but fear won’t control me.f
