Guard My Heart

Or Guard My Heart

A familiar voice, a reaching hand,
A bridge to mend, across a wounded land.
But echoes linger, of pain and strife,
A question lingers, of a fragile life.

Should I forgive, and let the past unfold,
Or guard my heart, a story yet untold?
To trust again, or doubt the friend I knew,
A tangled web, where choices intertwine.

Can wounds be healed, or scars remain?
A heavy burden, a constant strain.
To reconcile, or walk away with pride,
A battle within, where answers do not abide.

A Wave of Joy

A Wave of Joy

A flicker in the digital sea,
A message, unanticipated, free.
A friend, long lost, a cherished name,
Reaches out, dispelling doubt and shame.

A wave of joy, a warmth so deep,
As memories resurface, start to creep.
Laughter shared, secrets told,
A bond unbroken, stories untold.

Across the miles, a connection’s made,
As friendship’s flame is rekindled, unafraid.
Grateful hearts and smiling eyes,
As this unexpected reunion flies.

A Hollow Shell

A Hallow Shell

Friends they claim, yet distant as the stars,
Their words like echoes, lost in distant bars.
They promise laughter, shared in days of yore,
But now their silence echoes evermore.

A hollow shell, a friendship void of grace,
A fleeting shadow, leaving no trace.
How can they claim to be a friend so true,
When their absence speaks of a bond untrue?

A friendship built on promises unkept,
A fragile bond, easily swept.
So let us cherish those who truly care,
And leave behind the ones who don’t share.

Quiet of the Morning

In hush of dawn, a world takes hold,
A quiet breath, a story untold.
The air hangs heavy, cool and still,
A pause before the day can thrill.

No traffic hum, no distant calls,
Just whispers soft from dew-kissed walls.
A slumbering garden, dreams unseen,
A blanket cast of twilight’s sheen.

A single bird, a tentative song,
A melody that lingers long.
A wisp of smoke, a rising curl,
The only signs of waking world.

This stolen peace, a sacred space,
A moment held in time’s embrace.
The stillness reigns, a weightless sigh,
Then, with a sigh, the day draws nigh.

ANGER

The ember glows, a hidden heat,
A spark ignited, deep and neat.
A simmering stew, a rising tide,
The calm facade, it starts to slide.

The voice grows sharp, the words take flight,
Barbed arrows pierce the starlit night.
Muscles tense, a fist held tight,
A storm within, a brewing fight.

Red fills the vision, blurs the scene,
Logic surrenders, replaced by the mean.
The heart a drum, a pounding beat,
Fury unleashed, a raging heat.

Your Birthday

In 2008, I experienced the loss of my first child through miscarriage. I never had the chance to see your face or know if you were a boy or a girl. To hold onto you, I named you Aurora. Today would have been your birthday, and you would be turning fifteen. Though we couldn’t be together here, know that my love for you has never faded. When we finally meet, you’ll receive all the hugs and love I’ve longed to give you.

Your Birthday

The calendar turns, a cruel, indifferent page,
Marking a day unseen, on life’s unfinished stage.
A day of dreams, of what could have come to be,
A tiny soul, a birthday meant for thee.
My womb, once a haven, a cradle warm and bright,
Now holds an emptiness, a silent, shadowed night.
No cooing laughter, no tiny fingers curled,
Just echoes of a future, lost within this world.
But love, like light, transcends the body’s hold,
A whispered promise, a story yet untold.
You bloomed a fleeting while, a bud unseen, yet known,
A cherished thought, a love forever sown.
The world may not have known your smile, your touch,
But in my heart, my love, you mean so much.
A silent tear may fall, a pang of what could be,
But hope still whispers, “Though unseen, you’re free.”
This day we’ll mark you, with love that will not fade,
A birthday whispered, a memory gently made.
For though you’re gone from sight, an angel in the sky,
My love for you, my child, will never, ever die.

Prayer

Prayer

In hushed whispers or a heartfelt plea,
Prayer, a bridge unseen, yet meant to be.
It floats on faith, a silent, feathered thing,
To unseen ears, a message it can bring.

No padlock holds, no distance can confine,
It slips through walls, a lifeline so divine.
In sorrow’s depths, a flicker in the night,
A spark of hope, a gentle, guiding light.

For burdens shared are lighter, that is true,
But whispered prayers can mend a heart in two.
It fills the soul with whispered, calming grace,
A quiet strength to find a better space.

It holds no form, no color, nor a sound,
Yet in its wake, a peace can be found.
Like magic blooms, where worries used to cling,
A fragile hope, on whispered prayer’s wing.

So let it rise, this magic yet unseen,
A whispered word, a silent, trusting dream.
For prayer’s soft touch, though subtle and unknown,
Holds a power vast, to heal and make us whole.

A Friend so Rare

A Friend so Rare

A friend so rare, a gem so bright,
Your laughter chases away the night.
With you, dear friend, my heart takes flight,
We share our dreams in morning light.

Though miles may stretch, or days may crawl,
The bond we share will never fall.
Your voice, a comfort, warm and true,
But missing you makes skies turn blue.

Inside jokes dance, a whispered rhyme,
Memories echo through the chime
Of silent hours, when we’re apart,
A hollow ache within my heart.

But like the sun, you’ll rise once more,
And friendship’s warmth will fill the door.
Until that time, I hold you near,
My amazing friend, forever dear.

Peace! Lesson Learned!

Peace! Lesson Learned!

No drama’s sting, a heart at peace.
Toxic ties, a thing of the past,
Lessons learned, freedom to last.

Their whispers dark, their barbs so keen,
Dimmed your light, a shadowed scene.
But courage rose, a strength within,
You chose yourself, let healing begin.

Two wasted years, a memory faint,
Replaced by joy, a vibrant paint.
New connections, genuine and bright,
Filling your days with warmth and light.

This milestone marks a victory won,
A celebration, a brand new sun.
Hold your head high, let laughter flow,
The best is yet to come, you know.

So raise a glass, a toast to you,
For strength and growth, a brand new view.
May kindness bloom, and friendships true,
Surround your life, forever new.
