FREEDOM

Freedom

The laughter used to echo, warm and true,
A comfort found in every shared ado.
But shadows crept, a subtle, chilling guise,
Reflected in their knowing, mocking eyes.

They pulled me close, a puppet on their string,
Each foolish step, a bitter, whispered sting.
My words unheard, my pleas just brushed aside,
No common ground where truth could safely ride.

A silent pact, a role I had to play,
To be the foil, to brighten up their day.
While in my heart, a heavy feeling grew,
A sense of self, slowly fading from view.

The tether snapped, a quiet, forceful break,
No grand goodbyes, no promises to make.
Just weary steps, into the light I strode,
Unburdened by the debt I felt I owed.

And now I breathe, a freedom sweet and deep,
No longer bound by secrets they would keep.
The air is clear, the path ahead is bright,
Released from shadows, bathed in my own light.

A Faded Dream

A Faded Dream

A whisper starts, a quiet hum,
“You’re not enough,” the murmurs come.
A shadow thought, a heavy dread,
Planting doubts inside my head.

I see the world in vibrant gleam,
And feel I’m just a faded dream.
Comparing starts, a bitter art,
Tearing self-worth quite apart.

The moments rise, when strength feels low,
And efforts seem to barely grow.
A voice insists, with mocking tone,
“You stand in this wide world, alone.”

Yet in the quiet, I recall,
The times I rose, despite the fall.
The battles won, the lessons learned,
A inner fire, softly burned.

Perhaps this doubt, a passing cloud,
Not truth declared, nor spoken loud.
A human echo, faint and deep,
While truer strengths, within me sleep.

For “good enough” is not a prize,
But knowing self, with honest eyes.
And even when the shadows loom,
My own bright light can fill the room.

Finally

Photo by Nina Uhlikova on Pexels.com

The words were stones I swallowed, one by one,
A silent quarry buried in my chest.
My truth was hidden from the light and sun,
A fragile bird that never left the nest.
I learned the art of nodding, of the smile,
A placid surface on a churning sea.
I’d let the silence linger for a while,
And lose another little piece of me.

But something in the quiet finally broke,
A final weight I couldn’t bear to hold.
A sleeping giant in my spirit woke,
A story far too precious to leave untold.
It wasn’t rage, it wasn’t born of spite,
But a calm knowledge, steady, deep, and true:
I had a right to stand within my light,
And my own voice deserved to travel through.

The first word caught, a tremor in the sound,
Then found its footing, resonant and clear.
I felt my feet sink solid in the ground,
And watched my long-held hesitation disappear.
The thoughts I’d caged for years came rushing out,
Not as a scream, but as a steady rain,
Washing away the fear, the shame, the doubt,
And breaking every link upon the chain.

I spoke of lines you’d crossed with casual ease,
Of feelings discounted and pushed aside.
I didn’t ask, I didn’t say my “please,”
I simply stated what I felt inside.
The air was thick, your face a strange new sight,
As if you’d met a stranger in my place.
And in that moment, bathed in honest light,
I finally owned my story and my space.

The world did not collapse, the sky still held,
But in my soul, a universe had changed.
The stifled narrative was now propelled,
The pieces of myself rearranged.
This voice is mine, though it may sometimes shake,
It’s learning now the music of its song.
And for my own heart’s weary, precious sake,
It’s where my truth belonged and will belong.

The End

The End

The silent phone, the empty space,
A friendship’s ghost, no warm embrace.
I offered hands, a willing heart,
But you, my friend, just drifted apart.

The blame, the weight, it always fell on me,
To mend the cracks, to try and make you see.
I stretched, I reached, across the growing void,
While your indifference left my spirit destroyed.

No more the chasing, no more the plea,
If you truly cared, you’d come to me.
The effort’s gone, the well is dry,
This chapter’s closed, a final, sad goodbye.

Are You a Friend?

A voice rings out, a warm surprise,
“My best friend!” gleams in hopeful eyes.
A pleasant shock, a gentle jolt,
From someone who, we rarely ‘volt’.

And in that moment, something starts to bloom,
A quiet thought within my mental room.
How sparse their world, if I’m the one,
On whom such weighty titles spun.

We barely speak, the days stretch long,
A silent passage, where we don’t belong
In daily chats, or coffee shared,
Yet in their mind, this bond is aired.

Perhaps their life, a quiet stream,
Where my small presence is a cherished dream.
A deeper need, a wider space,
That I unknowingly, somehow grace.

And though we drift, like leaves on air,
For them, it seems, I’m always there.
A silent anchor, strong and true,
More to them, than I ever knew.

Turn Away From Poisoned Ground

Friendship’s threads, once strong and bright,
Can fray and tangle in the night.
Misunderstanding’s shadow falls,
Neglect’s cold touch, the bond enthralls.

No single villain takes the blame,
Two souls drift apart, a silent shame.
Subtle currents, unspoken truth,
Carry them away, from golden youth.

One friend may falter, stumble, stray,
Loyalty and trust, they disobey.
Words unspoken, secrets kept,
Confidence betrayed, the wound is wept.

Hearts grow distant, walls ascend,
A silent dance, where sorrows blend.
The other friend, they play a part,
Neglect and coldness, harden the heart.

Resentment’s seed, in darkness grows,
Unspoken grievances, no one knows.
Apologies may not suffice,
The damage deep, a heavy price.

Turn away from poisoned ground,
Seek connections, where joy is found.
True friendship needs respect and care,
Empathy’s warmth, a love to share.

If grace and warmth have disappeared,
Acknowledge the truth, do not be feared.
Create space for friendships new,
Honor your worth, in all you do.

You deserve connections, pure and bright,
Uplifting your soul, with all their might.
Recognize the end, with open eyes,
New beginnings wait, beneath the skies.

Fake Friends

I wish people were honest with me. If you don’t like me or have a problem with me just say it. Cause this, acting like I am like a sister to you and then turning on me is such a waste of time. I would rather spend my free time with those I care about and those who actually care about it.

Fake Friends

In shallow laughter’s fleeting sway,
I lost precious moments, secrets astray.
Surrounded by smiles, a false display,
I thought I’d found friendship, come what may.

Time’s relentless river, swift and wide,
Washed away those bonds, a fading tide.
Empty promises echoed, a hollow guide,
Revealing the truth, I could no longer hide.

With eyes now open, illusions depart,
I see the true gems, a change of heart.
My family, my friends, a love that won’t start,
Had waited for me, from the very start.

Regret’s sharp sting, a lesson I’ve learned,
True love’s bond, where loyalty is earned.
No more wasted moments, a new page turned,
My heart seeks connection, a lesson discerned.

For my family, by blood or by choice,
Deserve every beat, every word, every voice.
In their warmth and embrace, I rejoice,
A love that knows no bounds, I’ll always voice.

In this sacred space, where love’s light gleams,
I’ll savor each moment, like sweet summer dreams.
Forever grateful, for love’s gentle beams,
A love that never wavered, so it seems.

A Mutual Friend

A Mutual Friend

The words hang heavy, unspoken yet,
A plea for pardon, tinged with regret.
To reach through time, the bridge feels vast,
A fear of intrusion, shadows cast.

A mutual friend, a common thread,
Could mend the rift, the words unsaid.
But hesitation takes a hold,
Is it my story to unfold?

To ask this favor, feels like a weight,
Imposing burdens, sealing fate.
Their friendship, separate, should it bear
The weight of my guilt, my heartfelt prayer?

Is it using them, a selfish plea,
Or could it bring solace, set spirits free?
The question lingers, doubt takes root,
Should I stay silent, bear the bitter fruit?

Perhaps the answer lies within their bond,
A trust unspoken, strong beyond.
If their connection holds such grace,
My plea might find its rightful place.

But still, the fear, a constant hum,
Of overstepping, becoming burdensome.
The choice remains, a heavy cross,
To speak or silence, count the cost.

To Those I Have Hurt

For Those I have Hurt

The weight of words unsaid, a heart’s remorse,
For past mistakes, a friendship’s altered course.
Through introspection’s lens, the pain I see,
And own the hurt, the lasting memory.

A journey now, to mend the fractured soul,
Through therapy and workshops, to make me whole.
Though words may fail to bridge the chasm wide,
Acceptance dawns, with nowhere left to hide.

In youthful zeal, a longing to belong,
Where shared delights would banish fears that throng.
Yet insecurity, a shadow in the mind,
Cast its dark spell, leaving wounds behind.

Controlling ways, a grasp that held too tight,
Dictating paths, eclipsing others’ light.
But lessons learned, a shift in perception’s hold,
To value differences, stories yet untold.

A commitment made, to nurture and to grow,
Where friendships bloom, and mutual respect will flow.
To listen deeply, offer support’s hand,
And build a bond where trust and kindness stand.

No blame resides, no fault in your own art,
Your talent shines, a creative, vibrant heart.
Through time and trials, growth has found its way,
In every pen, a brighter, bolder day.

Life’s tapestry, with threads of joy and pain,
Woven through moments, loss, and lessons gained.
A wake-up call, a fragile life’s embrace,
To cherish moments, leave no empty space.

No excuses sought, no burdens to impart,
Just truths revealed, a vulnerable, open heart.
No expectations, no forgiveness to implore,
Just heartfelt sorrow, knocking at your door.

With hopes for healing, and a future yet untold,
A sincere apology, a story to unfold.
May time bring solace, and mend the broken ties,
And grant forgiveness, beneath compassionate skies.
