The End

The End

The silent phone, the empty space,
A friendship’s ghost, no warm embrace.
I offered hands, a willing heart,
But you, my friend, just drifted apart.

The blame, the weight, it always fell on me,
To mend the cracks, to try and make you see.
I stretched, I reached, across the growing void,
While your indifference left my spirit destroyed.

No more the chasing, no more the plea,
If you truly cared, you’d come to me.
The effort’s gone, the well is dry,
This chapter’s closed, a final, sad goodbye.

Are You a Friend?

A voice rings out, a warm surprise,
“My best friend!” gleams in hopeful eyes.
A pleasant shock, a gentle jolt,
From someone who, we rarely ‘volt’.

And in that moment, something starts to bloom,
A quiet thought within my mental room.
How sparse their world, if I’m the one,
On whom such weighty titles spun.

We barely speak, the days stretch long,
A silent passage, where we don’t belong
In daily chats, or coffee shared,
Yet in their mind, this bond is aired.

Perhaps their life, a quiet stream,
Where my small presence is a cherished dream.
A deeper need, a wider space,
That I unknowingly, somehow grace.

And though we drift, like leaves on air,
For them, it seems, I’m always there.
A silent anchor, strong and true,
More to them, than I ever knew.

Miss You

When I started writing poetry, my poems were very basic. I simply wrote down my feelings without any rhythm or reason. My word choice was horrible, but it helped my mental health, so I am proud of them.

Now that I have been writing poetry for the past 8-9 years, I thought it would be good to look back at some of my old poems and delve deeper into imagery and word choice, just to make them better. The more we write, the better we get. I hope that with my paranormal writing, my first book is good, but my last one is the best because of my improvement over time. I pray that is the truth.

I miss you, my dear friends,
Scattered across the miles,
Your infectious laughter, your warm smiles,
Your captivating tales.

I miss our heartfelt conversations,
Our playful games, our carefree fun,
I miss the way we used to run,
Wild and free, beneath the sun.

I miss the way you had the power
To make me smile,
I miss the way you made me feel
Cherished and worthwhile.

I miss the way you always seemed to know
Just how to lift my spirits
And make my laughter flow.

I miss you when I’m all alone,
Lost in the quietude,
I miss you when I’m feeling down,
In need of your fortitude.

I miss you all the time, you see,
In every waking hour,
I miss you more than words can express,
With a longing that has the power

To ache within my heart and soul,
A constant, gentle plea,
For the days when we were together,
Carefree and happy.

I yearn for the moments we shared,
The memories we hold dear,
And I pray that someday soon,
We’ll reunite, and banish every fear

Of loneliness and sorrow,
And replace them with pure joy,
As we laugh and talk and reminisce,
Like carefree girls and boys.

Until then, I’ll hold you close
Within my heart, my cherished friends so true,
And I’ll dream of the day we meet again,
Beneath a sky of blue.

Stubborn Friend

The stubborn friend, I’ll own that trait,
Through thick and thin, I’ll stand and wait.
Though my persistence might cause you to flee,
A friend in me, you’ll always see.

I know at times, I push too hard,
My presence might seem like a guard
That smothers you, restricts your space,
But worry not, I’ll keep my pace.

If you need distance, I’ll understand,
Give you the freedom, lend a hand
From afar, with a watchful eye,
A silent promise, in the sky.

You might not want this friendship’s hold,
Its strength and warmth, a story told
Too often, perhaps, in your ear,
But know that someone’s always near.

Though I might be annoying, it’s true,
My loyalty will always see you through.
So take your space, or come close and stay,
A friend in me, you’ll find your way.

Dear Friend

A dear friend, though miles may lie between,
And days may pass where words are rarely seen,
Know that in my thoughts, you hold a constant space,
A cherished bond, time cannot erase.

Like stars that gleam in skies of deepest night,
Your presence shines, a beacon ever bright.
Though daily chatter may not fill the air,
My heart holds fast, with love and silent care.

Through life’s meandering path, where’er we roam,
Our connection strong, a soul-deep, guiding home.
And when the shadows fall, or storms arise,
My hand reaches out, to where your spirit lies.

For friendship’s truth transcends the spoken word,
A loyal heart, in every beat is heard.
So trust in this, though silence may descend,
My love remains, until the very end.

A Writer’s Lament

A Writer’s Lament

A mind ablaze, a heart afire,
With tales untold, a writer’s desire.
A universe of words, a cosmic sight,
Yet trapped in shadows, hidden from light.

Ideas ignite, a spark within,
A story’s birth, a hopeful win.
But doubt creeps in, a fearsome foe,
A lonely journey, a silent woe.

A sea of words, a vast expanse,
A writer’s dream, a hopeful chance.
To share their vision, their soul laid bare,
A longing gaze, a vacant stare.

A silent plea, a heartfelt cry,
To reach the world, soar ever high.
A writer’s hope, a fragile thing.

A silent plea, a heartfelt cry,
To reach the world, soar ever high.
A writer’s hope, a fragile thing,
To find a reader, a joyful spring.
