Two Souls Collide

In shallow waters souls may graze,
Years spent wading in a friendly haze.
Laughter shared, and tales unfurled,
But oceans deep remain unpearled.

Then, a tide comes rushing in,
Whispers secrets on the skin.
Two souls collide, a spark ignites,
A supernova in shared sights.

No awkward pauses, no forced cheer,
Just kindred spirits drawing near.
Mirrored thoughts in whispered verse,
Understanding without rehearse.

Time loses grip, days weave like dreams,
In unspoken joys and silent screams.
No need to bridge the distant shore,
For sisterhood blooms at the ocean’s core.

So let the shallows play their part,
But hold true treasure close to heart.
For some connections, bound by fate,
Transcend the years, and rise above the gate.

New Friends

Made by Author with Canva.com

Friendship is a treasure,
A gift to cherish and hold dear.
It’s a bond that’s strong and sure,
A bond that can’t be bought or sold.

Making new friends is a journey,
A path we walk with open hearts.
It’s a dance of laughter and learning,
A tapestry of shared moments.

To build new friendships, we must be bold,
To step outside our comfort zone.
To offer our true selves to others,
And let our personalities be known.

We must be open to new experiences,
And willing to learn and grow.
To find common ground and shared interests,
And let our friendships blossom and flow.

Making new friends takes time and effort,
But it’s a journey worth pursuing.
For friends make our lives brighter,
And add meaning and joy to our doing.

So let’s all reach out and make new friends,
For friendship is a gift to us all.
Let’s build relationships that last,
And cherish our friends, big and small.

Poetry

When the heart is sad and sore,
When the soul is sick with care,
Poetry with its magic lore
Can make all things seem fair.

In the shadows of the night,
When the world is all alone,
Poetry with its tender light
Can make the darkness shone.

When the spirit is oppressed,
When the heart is all aglow,
Poetry with its soothing rest
Can make the soul grow slow.

When the mind is filled with doubt,
When the soul is all astray,
Poetry with its golden shout
Can make the way seem plain.

So when life is dark and drear,
When the heart is sad and lone,
Turn to Poetry, my dear,
And she will make you strong.

She will take your hand and lead
You through the shadows dim,
And the light of her sweet face will feed
Your soul with hope sublime.

She will sing to you of love,
Of joy and peace and light,
And the world will seem above
All its pain and sin and night.

So turn to Poetry, my dear,
When the heart is sad and lone,
And she will make you strong and clear,
And the world will seem a home.

Mom

Photo by Egg thing on Pexels.com

I miss your smile, your laugh, your touch.
I miss your presence, your warm embrace.
I miss your advice, your guidance, your support.
I miss your love, more than words can say.

I know you’re in a better place now,
But I still miss you every day.
I wish I could talk to you, just one more time.
I wish I could give you a hug, one last time.

But I know that’s not possible.
So I’ll just have to cherish the memories we made.
I’ll keep your love in my heart, always.
And I’ll never forget you, my dear mom.

I love you always and forever.

Celebrating Friends: A Heartfelt Ode

Celebrating Friends: A Heartfelt Ode

I will cherish the friends I have today,
And know that they will always be there.
Through every storm and changing tide,
They walk beside me, side by side.
Their presence is a steady beacon in the dark,

A comforting warmth, a creative spark.
So let us raise a glass to friendship,
And all the joy it brings.
To the laughter shared in brighter days,
And paths that guide our different ways.
We toast to the secrets told late at night,

And the bonds that keep our spirits light.
To the friends we have, and those we’ve lost,
May we always be close.
Though time and distance may divide,
Their memory stays safe inside.
No matter where the road of life may lead,
A true friend is a treasure indeed.

Poetry Prompt

Would You Rather? Write about something you don’t want to do, and what you would rather do instead.

I Am Done

Photo by Liza Summer on Pexels.com

My arms are tired and my hands are sore
From reaching out to you for so long.
I’ve been a fool to think you’d care
Or even know that I was wrong.

I’ve tried to be your friend, but you
Have only pushed me further away.
I’ve given all that I can do,
But it’s not enough for you today.

So I’m done reaching out to you.
I’m done with hoping and with trying.
I’m done with being your fool, too.
I’m done with all of your lying.

I’m not the only one who’s hurt
By the way you’ve treated me.
There are others who have been hurt
By your cold and cruel heart, you see.

So go on and live your life alone.
I don’t need you anymore.
I’m done with being your pawn.
I’m done with being your chore.

I’m done with you, and I’m done with this.
I’m moving on, and I’m not looking back.
I’m done with being your victim.
I’m done with being your lack.

How Long?

How long should we wait for our friends,
To come back to us?
Should we wait a year or a day,
Or a moment or less?

If they are true friends, they will come,
No matter how long we wait.
But if they are false friends, they will not come,
Not even if we wait a day.

So let us wait for our friends,
And I hope that they are true.
And if they do not come, then we must know
That they were not true friends to us.

But we must never give up hope,
For there are true friends in the world.
And if we wait long enough,
They will come to us.

Overwhelming Fear, Irrational Thoughts

Overwhelming fear, irrational thoughts
Like a weight on my chest.
It pushes me down, suffocating my heart,
It sits like a boulder covering my chest.
I can’t move it, as I hear my heart pounding in my chest.
Louder and louder, it gets, as it blocks all other thoughts out.

Irrational thoughts and fears.
It squeezes my lungs making my breathing ragged.
Like a hand wrapped around my throat.
I gasp for air trying to scream but nothing comes out

My breathing is ragged.
My thoughts deceive me.
That is all I can think about.
That worry, that fear, it all consumes me.

A sense of urgency,
A sense of regret.
How did I mess things up so badly?
My thoughts go to the worst things possible.

Overwhelming fear, Irrational thoughts,
Can’t focus, can’t think.
Overwhelming fear, Irrational thoughts

Poetry Prompt Wednesday #5

Poetry Prompt Wednesday

Think of the phrase “A fork in the road.” What if there was literally a fork in the road? What would it look like? Why would it be there? Or write about a time when you had to make a decision that was “A fork in the road.”
