Mother’s Heart

Oh, my precious child, my heart aches so,
To hear of the bullying you must go through.
I want to protect you from all harm,
But I know that I can’t always be there with you.

So what is a mother to do?
How can I stop a fight before it happens?
How can I diffuse the situation?

First, I must listen to you, my child.
I need to understand what is happening,
And why you are being targeted.
Once I know the root of the problem,
I can start to develop a plan.

I can talk to your teacher,
Or to the school counselor.
I can also talk to the parents of the bully.
Together, we can work to find a solution.

But most importantly, my child,
I need you to know that I am here for you.
I love you unconditionally,
And I will always be on your side.

Burns My Heart

I’ve seen you cry before,
But never like this before.
Your tears are hot and salty,
They burn my heart like fire.

I want to take your pain away,
To make it all go away.
But I know that I can’t,
That’s something you must do.

I just wish I could understand,
Why you’re hurting so bad.
What could have made you cry
Like this, my darling child?

I know that you’re growing up,
That you’re facing new challenges.
But I never thought that it would hurt
This much to see you cry.

I love you more than words can say,
And I’ll always be here for you.
No matter what you’re going through,
I’ll be right here by your side.

So please, don’t cry anymore.
I can’t stand to see you hurt.
Let me help you through this,
Together we can get through it.
