The Weight of Unshared Burdens

I’m carrying a secret,
One I can’t share.
If I told anyone,
They’d be filled with despair.

It locks away my thoughts,
And shadows all my days.
A silent storm inside,
Lost in a winding maze.

I’m afraid of what they’ll think,
Of how they’ll react.
I don’t want to hurt them,
So I’ll keep this to myself.

The truth could shatter bonds,
And break the fragile trust.
So I will wear this mask,
Because I know I must.

I’m carrying this burden,
All alone.
It’s heavy and it’s painful,
But I know I can’t let it go.

No shoulder to lean on,
No hand to guide my way.
I walk this lonely road,
Further into the gray.

I need to find a way to deal with this,
To find a way to cope.
I can’t keep living like this,
With this secret weighing me down.

I search for just a spark,
To clear this heavy air.
To find some inner peace,
And ease this dark despair.

Unveiling Secrets: A Journey of Heartbreak

Unveiling Secrets: A Journey of Heartbreak

I once thought I was your confidante,
That you told me everything,
But now I see that I was wrong,
That I was just another fool.

You tell others things you’ve never told me,
Secrets that you keep close,
And I am left in the dark,
To wonder what I did wrong.

Am I not important to you?
Am I not worthy of your trust?
Or is there someone else you’ve chosen,
To take my place in your heart?

I don’t know the answers to these questions,
But I do know that I’m hurt,
And that I’m no longer sure,
If I want to be a part of your life.

The silence between us grows louder each day,
A wall built of secrets and whispers untold,
I watch from the sidelines as you drift away,
Leaving memories turning fragile and cold.

So I will step back from the shadows you cast,
And guard the small pieces of heart that remain,
No longer a prisoner to what’s in the past,
Learning to walk through the quiet and pain.

A Ghost in the Neon Hum

A Ghost in the Neon Hum

City’s plus, a symphony
Footstep, whispers, horns’ blare,
Unseen, unheard, a ghost I roam.
I drift through crowded avenues where life flows fast,
A silhouette of a story, a remnant of the past,
You pass by, thoughts afar,
Never noticing the shadow rear,
My name, once a melody, now fades,
My voice is just an echo in the concrete and the stone,
A quiet plea for presence, in a world I walk alone,
Neon lights, a path aglow,
Darkness cloaks, from sight I hide,
Creature of night, moon and stars my witness,
The electric haze illuminated the distance in your eyes.
While underneath the starlight, my true self quietly dies,
Did you see me, truly see?
In memory’s weave a thread for me?
Or just a ghost, haunting your mind’s edge?
A lingering impression of a soul you didn’t keep,
Lost within the shallow world while I am buried deep.
