The alarm clock rings,
I groan and roll over.
I don’t want to get up,
I’m so tired.
But I know I need to,
So I drag myself out of bed.
I stumble to the kitchen,
And make myself a cup of coffee.
The smell of the coffee wakes me up a little,
And I start to feel human again.
I take a sip of the coffee,
And it’s like a warm hug for my soul.
The caffeine starts to kick in,
And I start to feel more awake.
I’m ready to face the day,
Thanks to my morning coffee.
Here’s to coffee,
The nectar of the gods.
It’s the only thing that can get me through the day.
So raise a cup to coffee,
And let’s all say, “Cheers!”
